Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in communications, business management or recreation management or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum two years of experience in customer service or sales
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups
- Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Windows and Office
- Willingness to work weekday afternoons/evenings and one weekend day
- Full-time availability with flexible hours
Job Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree or higher in communications, business management or recreation management
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least two years of experience working in the customer service or sales field
- Possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
- Proficient use of tablets, computers and computer functions including Microsoft Windows and Office
- High aptitude for learning new systems
Job Duties
- Assist with overseeing the operations of the Welcome Center including supportive functions relevant to serving new and existing members of the YMCA
- Process memberships and program registrations in the organizational software (SGA/Pulse) and support member inquiries
- Assist in onboarding, ongoing training and development of department employees
- Participate in and help lead regular staff meetings with direct reports to assure effective communication with Y staff, to promote support for problem solving, program development, family engagement, etc.
- Manage the staff schedule for the Welcome Center and related areas
- Support membership sales efforts
- Lead results-oriented tours for prospective members and coach Welcome Center Associates on related processes and expected outcomes
- Handles conflict, concerns, member frustrations, and unusual facility situations
