Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service or sales experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Documents
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- Ability to handle conflict professionally and manage conflict resolution
- Must successfully complete employee training including New Staff Orientation Blood Bourne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to YMCA policies
- Must be physically able to lift pull and move up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods
- Must consent to and pass background checks including criminal background reference checks drug test and Child Protective Services check

- Former YMCA experience utilizing SGA Sales preferred
Job Duties
- Implement sales and membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention engagement of existing members including achievement of sales goals prospect closing ratios 13-month retention membership revenue and secret shopping goals as directed by the Regional Membership Director
- Create a member-focused culture and model relationship-building skills including Listen First and the YMCA of South Hampton Roads Service Creed in all interactions
- Foster a climate of innovation and resolve problems to ensure exemplary member satisfaction
- Promote program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members in conjunction with marketing efforts to maximize sales
- Coordinate program registration including logistics to support phone walk-in and web registration
- Ensure proper implementation of member service procedures review and update membership procedures and communicate changes to staff coordinate with the Resource Operations Center as necessary on financial transactions
- Assist in organizing membership events at the YMCA and occasionally represent the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA
- Participate in staff meetings and related meetings as requested
- Complete employee training as required including New Staff Orientation Blood Bourne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention among others
- Follow all standards policies and procedures as established by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads including Employee Code of Conduct Child Abuse Reporting and Prevention emergency procedures and state licensing standards where applicable make ADA accommodations where appropriate maintain the program site equipment YMCA COVID-19 sanitation and standards and required program records
- Assist in all areas as assigned
