Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • previous customer service and sales experience preferred
  • intermediate or advanced knowledge of technology
  • certifications required within thirty days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid for adults, children, and infants
  • completion of YMCA's online training upon date of hire and periodically thereafter

Job Duties

  • Provides exceptional customer service by exceeding guest expectations
  • consistently greets every person who enters the YMCA and recognizes all members and guests when they leave
  • engages in active listening with prospects, members and program participants to build relationships and understand individual goals
  • utilizes current operating software systems for membership sales, program registrations, and other functions
  • receives and documents payments to ensure balanced end-of-shift reports
  • provides accurate information about membership, programs, and facilities
  • follows and enforces YMCA procedures and policies including safety and membership policies
  • actively listens and responds to customer questions and concerns in a caring manner
  • ensures the safety and well-being of consumers by maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to abuse reporting requirements
  • attends and remains current on all mandatory training and staff meetings
