Job Requirements
- minimum age of 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation
- food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- ability to work with customers attentively
- capability to perform department-specific physical tasks
- ability to lift at least 50-55 lbs and manage heavier loads with assistance

Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning for bakery
- takes care of service counter customers in deli
- uses ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner in deli
- performs inventory management processes
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup
- performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- serves and packages products at customer request in prepared foods
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- prepackages condiments
- cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
