Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Two to five years' supervisory experience in banquet or hospitality settings
- Knowledge of food and beverage service and hospitality etiquette
- Experience with multi-faceted event projects
- Strong communication skills
- Financial management capability
- Ability to adapt and make decisions under pressure
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Onsite work availability
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in events management, business, communications or equivalent work experience
- Two to five years' experience in a supervisory banquet or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and hospitality etiquette
- Experience managing multi-faceted projects and events in a team setting
- Understanding of industry practices related to events, expenses and resource management
- Superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels
- Strong financial management skills including analysis and reporting of event space expenses
- Demonstrated adaptability, decision making, and customer/user experience management
- Ability to manage ambiguous situations and adjust quickly
- Ability to influence without authority, resolve conflicts, and negotiate solutions with multiple stakeholders
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
Job Duties
- Serve as a single point of contact to the event planner or assign a designee as SPOC for routine meetings and events in reserved space
- Support meeting and events consultants on the most complex events
- Manage events with high profile guests acting as liaison with vendors, caterers, and contractors
- Foster a collaborative environment among supporting teams including setup, cleaners, food service, security, and AV
- Recommend appropriate service levels for the Learning Institute and related spaces
- Ensure space and services comply with quality and safety specifications through daily walk-throughs
- Coordinate event services including vendor dock access and kitchen usage
- Recommend safety practices and assist in maintaining emergency action and security procedures
- Conduct research and benchmark with similar properties under senior manager guidance
- Track utilization and make recommendations for space planning and upgrades
- Contribute to quarterly assessments of operation effectiveness and suggest improvements
- Secure actual or estimated costs from service providers
- Manage facility use invoice process, reconciliation, and collection
- Provide superior customer service to build rapport with internal and external guests
- Evaluate incoming event requests and recommend solutions for conflicts or last minute changes
- Distribute Banquet Event Orders to clients and support services
- Support reservations team with diagrams, name badges, and administrative tasks
- Train interns and project support admins on operational processes
- Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure service level standards compliance and coordinate corrective actions
