Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Two to five years' supervisory experience in banquet or hospitality
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards
  • Experience working on complex projects or events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Financial management capability
  • Adaptability and decision-making ability
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in events management, business, communications or equivalent work experience
  • Two to five years' experience in supervisory banquet or hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and hospitality etiquette
  • Experience in multi-faceted projects and team environments
  • Knowledge of industry practices related to events, expenses, and resources
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong financial management skills for expense analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrated adaptability, decision making, and customer experience skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguous situations and adjust quickly
  • Ability to influence without authority, resolve conflicts, and negotiate solutions with multiple stakeholders
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends and some holidays in support of events

Job Duties

  • Serve as single point of contact to event planners for routine meetings and events
  • Support meeting and events consultants on complex events
  • Manage events with high profile guests and liaise with vendors, caterers, and contractors
  • Foster collaborative environment among setup, cleaning, food service, security, and AV teams
  • Recommend service levels for Learning Institute and related spaces
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of function space to ensure compliance and coordinate corrective actions
  • Coordinate event services including vendor dock access, kitchen usage, and departure needs
  • Recommend and assist in maintaining safety practices and emergency plans
  • Conduct research and benchmarking under senior manager guidance
  • Track space utilization and recommend planning and upgrades
  • Contribute to quarterly assessments of operational effectiveness and recommend changes
  • Secure cost estimates from service providers
  • Manage facility use invoice process and reconciliation
  • Provide superior customer service to internal and external guests
  • Evaluate incoming event requests to recommend solutions and resolve conflicts
  • Distribute Banquet Event Orders and coordinate event details
  • Support reservations team with diagrams, name badges, and administrative tasks
  • Train interns and project support admins on operational processes
