Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous catering or event sales experience
- Experience in luxury hotel industry preferred
- Proficiency in Delphi, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple events
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Ability to sit for up to 6 hours and perform physical tasks such as walking and standing
- Availability to attend meetings and travel as required
- Ability to resolve guest concerns professionally
Job Qualifications
- Previous catering or event sales experience strongly preferred
- Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning, and private/group event coordination
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management, and co-workers
- Knowledge of current event trends
- Computer proficiency including experience with Delphi, Excel, and Microsoft Office programs
Job Duties
- Handle inquiry calls, proposals, negotiations, and contracts according to departmental procedures
- Schedule and conduct site inspections and provide assistance to walk-in clients ensuring positive impressions
- Sell event and private dining space using departmental policy and procedures
- Actively prospect for new corporate and social catering business and utilize creative methods to close business while maintaining existing relationships
- Develop sales strategies for achieving quarterly and yearly goals
- Meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly solicitation goals
- Create banquet event orders and resumes for contracted events and distribute timely
- Manage contracted deposit schedules and food and beverage minimums accurately and timely
- Ensure event details are accurately entered into the sales and catering booking system
- Attend banquet event order and resume meetings to communicate changes and pop-up events to operations
- Serve as onsite contact between client and hotel team during events
- Creatively resolve guests concerns or challenges using business acumen and discretion
- Foster a cooperative work environment with all hotel departments to provide seamless client and guest experience
- Conduct post-event follow-up with client and review final master bill for accuracy
- Maintain relationships with third-party vendors
- Stay knowledgeable of current event trends and provide creative setups, menus, and programming to clients
