Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent education
  • Three to five years' experience in event management or conference services
  • Experience in luxury hotel environment preferred
  • Knowledge of entertainment market
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Delphi and Opera systems, cloud-based preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage products and presentation
  • Understanding of meeting room capacities, banquet setups, and audio-visual
  • Basic math skills for billing
  • Proficient in English communication
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of entertainment market
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Delphi and Opera systems, cloud-based preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage products and proper preparation and presentation
  • In-depth knowledge of meeting room capacities, banquet setup, and audio-visual requirements
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle billing accurately
  • Strong communication skills in English including speaking, reading, writing and understanding
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with daily use

Job Duties

  • Maintain strong client relations and ensure conference specifications are communicated and executed successfully
  • Monitor and manage room blocks and meeting space per contracts using group history and client information to maximize revenues
  • Review and validate sales contracts, including room blocks, cutoff dates, special concessions and attrition clauses with clients
  • Produce and distribute Conference Resumes and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to events and communicate updates to hotel departments
  • Collaborate extensively with Culinary team to execute catering events and banquets
  • Work with Director of Catering to establish best practices and SOPs for conference service department
  • Accurately forecast group rooms and food and beverage revenues within a 5 percent variance
  • Check room blocks, special concessions, and rates with group reservations agents and update them on changes
  • Participate in site visits and planning meetings for upcoming groups and affiliate business
  • Review client bills for accuracy and timeliness, compile cancellation and attrition charges, send thank you notes and meeting critiques
  • Perform other functions as required and directed
