Job Requirements

  • High school education preferred
  • Proficiency in English
  • Willingness to attend monthly in-service training
  • Familiarity with elderly care or willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Responsible and dependable character

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate preferred
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn medication administration protocols
  • Ability to take accurate vital signs and weights
  • Basic understanding of mobility and medical equipment
  • Responsible and caring nature
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Previous experience with elderly population preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Administers the medications and treatments according to the scheduled times following the medication administration protocol
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident and fellow employee's information
  • Notifies Resident Care Coordinator, Executive Director, or RN of resident changes of condition
  • Assists with monthly medication records as needed
  • Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and restocking of the Med room and Med cart
  • Demonstrates or learns proper technique with assistive equipment such as gait belt, sit to stand lift, transfer board, oxygen equipment, C-Pap, Nebulizer, catheter, specimen, transfer pole, trapeze, wheelchair, scale, and other equipment
  • Takes accurate vital signs and weights
  • Fills in for receptionist as directed by Executive Director or Resident Care Coordinator
  • Serves as a fill-in caregiver when needed
  • Assists in care needs of residents including lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Acts as manager on duty as directed by Executive Director or Resident Care Coordinator
  • Keeps current on First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff
