Job Requirements
- minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- college degree preferred
- must be familiar with most insurances accepted in Indiana
Job Qualifications
- previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- familiarity with practice management software is highly desired
- strong communication skills both verbal and written
- excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
- detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Job Duties
- greet and check-in patients ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
- schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- collect and update patient information including medical history and insurance details
- verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork working directly with billing
- maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- provide administrative support to medical staff including filing faxing and organizing documents
- assist with billing and patient assistance programs including prior authorizations
- utilize Nextech or similar software to manage patient records and appointments
- ensure the front desk area is clean organized and presentable
- may require travel to satellite office a couple of days a month
