Job Requirements

  • minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • college degree preferred
  • must be familiar with most insurances accepted in Indiana

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
  • familiarity with practice management software is highly desired
  • strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
  • proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
  • detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Job Duties

  • greet and check-in patients ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
  • schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
  • answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
  • collect and update patient information including medical history and insurance details
  • verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork working directly with billing
  • maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • provide administrative support to medical staff including filing faxing and organizing documents
  • assist with billing and patient assistance programs including prior authorizations
  • utilize Nextech or similar software to manage patient records and appointments
  • ensure the front desk area is clean organized and presentable
  • may require travel to satellite office a couple of days a month
