Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • ability to travel to various locations within 30 minutes of home
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks
  • commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • willingness to work additional hours as needed
  • basic computer literacy
  • ability to handle financial transactions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • dedication to ongoing education
  • ability to deliver high-quality patient care
  • prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office preferred
  • experience with Epic software preferred
  • CPR certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Receives and directs all communication courteously and consistently
  • adheres to HIPAA guidelines and office policy
  • answers phone calls quickly and directs them appropriately
  • greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
  • assists patients with the sign-in process and responds promptly to their needs
  • supports financial responsibilities including billing, collections, and preparing bank deposits
  • monitors and manages office supply inventory and equipment
  • manages patient check-in by obtaining and verifying demographics and insurance information
  • collects copayments and balances
  • ensures appropriate referrals and paperwork completion
  • manages patient check-out by posting charges, collecting payments, and scheduling appointments
  • promotes patient satisfaction through friendly interactions and reporting issues
  • maintains filing and record maintenance systems
  • assembles new patient folders and retrieves records
  • adapts work schedule to meet practice needs and cross covers when necessary
  • serves as a pre-loader for EMR system
  • performs other duties and projects as assigned
  • adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
