Job Duties
- Greet incoming patients using friendly, respectful communication
- obtain and document up-to-date demographic information for patients including insurance and license information
- accept patient payments and document accordingly
- be familiar with payment requirements for patients enrolled in all participating insurance plans and collect necessary co-pays
- maintain accurate transaction batches on credit card machine and balance cash drawer
- assist billing office with problem resolution as necessary
- notify clinical staff that patient has arrived via the EMR
- inform patients of any unusual delays in their appointment times
- answer incoming telephone calls using pleasant phone voice and proper telephone etiquette
- be familiar with necessary forms for patient appointments including scanning, printing, assembling, and mailing patient packets
- be familiar with computerized appointment scheduling system and schedule patients with all necessary follow-up and ancillary appointments
- prioritize telephone encounters effectively
- monitor automated confirmation calls and update EMR
- demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work as a team member
- proficiently use Windows based computer applications
- accurately transcribe and enter data
- ensure excellent typing and accurate documentation of patient encounters
