Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- minimum of 1 year in a customer or patient facing role or equivalent education and experience
- able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- favorable background check result as required by state
- proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- able to perform physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Job Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- favorable result on background check as required by state
- must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- high school diploma or GED required
Job Duties
- Embrace and execute total patient experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support
- provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
- display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
- answer phones both external and internal assuring prompt courteous service at all times
- practice urgency with consideration to patient and doctor’s time and schedule
- double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
- check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
- manage patient flow in the office and ensure communication to maximize efficiency and customer service
- complete daily reconciliations, close day, and countdown cash drawer
- comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager
