Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • minimum of 1 year in a customer or patient facing role or equivalent education and experience
  • able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • favorable background check result as required by state
  • proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • able to perform physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • favorable result on background check as required by state
  • must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • high school diploma or GED required

Job Duties

  • Embrace and execute total patient experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support
  • provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
  • display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • answer phones both external and internal assuring prompt courteous service at all times
  • practice urgency with consideration to patient and doctor’s time and schedule
  • double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
  • check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
  • manage patient flow in the office and ensure communication to maximize efficiency and customer service
  • complete daily reconciliations, close day, and countdown cash drawer
  • comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
  • perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager
