Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a customer service or patient interaction role or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical activities including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary
Job Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Job Duties
- Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support
- Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
- Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
- Answer phones both external and internal
- assure prompt, courteous service at all times
- Practice urgency at all times with consideration to the patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule
- Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
- Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
- Manage patient flow in the office and ensure communication to maximize efficiency and customer service
- Complete daily reconciliations, close day, countdown cash drawer
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA
- General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by the manager
