Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year in a customer service or patient interaction role or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Favorable result on background check as required by state
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical activities including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
  • Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • Visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Favorable result on background check as required by state
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Job Duties

  • Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support
  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • Answer phones both external and internal
  • assure prompt, courteous service at all times
  • Practice urgency at all times with consideration to the patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule
  • Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
  • Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
  • Manage patient flow in the office and ensure communication to maximize efficiency and customer service
  • Complete daily reconciliations, close day, countdown cash drawer
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA
  • General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by the manager
