Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • minimum of 1 year customer or patient interaction experience
  • favorable background check
  • proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • ability to perform physical activities including walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • visual and auditory acuity including color and peripheral vision
  • compliance with company policies including HIPAA

Job Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients or equivalent education and experience
  • favorable result on background check required
  • must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • high school diploma or GED required
  • proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Job Duties

  • Embrace and execute Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering service and support
  • provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
  • display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • answer phones both external and internal ensuring prompt courteous service
  • practice urgency with consideration to patient and doctor schedules
  • double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets
  • check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures
  • manage patient flow in the office and communicate to maximize efficiency and customer service
  • complete daily reconciliations, close day, and count down cash drawer
  • comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
  • perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager
