Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to perform physical activities including walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment at 100 percent
- Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary
Job Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients
- Favorable result on background check
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Embrace and execute Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients
- Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters in person and via phone
- Greet patients promptly with a professional attitude and thank them upon leaving
- Answer both external and internal phone calls ensuring courteous service
- Check insurance authorizations for completeness and build accurate flow sheets
- Check out patients and collect correct payments as per procedures
- Manage patient flow to maximize efficiency and customer service
- Complete daily reconciliations and close cash drawer
- Comply with all company policies including HIPAA
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned
