Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred
- Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred
- Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and Microsoft Office products
- Excellent keyboard skills
- Accuracy and dependability
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff

Job Duties
- Greet and communicate with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department
- Answer telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting
- Process calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member or provider in a timely manner
- Schedule patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity
- Perform patient registration including insurance verification
- Collect copay and point of service payments
- Manage pre-certifications, prior authorizations, and referrals
- Prepare charts and manage incoming and outgoing faxes
- Provide clerical support to providers and staff
