Job Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Active and valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel 15-20% to other office locations
  • Ability to work both in-office and remotely as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Active and valid driver's license upon hire and throughout employment
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate effectively in written documents
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Ability to interact effectively, support staff, and maintain professional working relationships
  • Provide excellent customer service, greet and receive patients/visitors professionally and friendly
  • Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
  • Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alpha and numerically
  • Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check-in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature and appropriate health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
  • Post-patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier, maintain a clean work and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
