Job Requirements

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required upon hire and throughout employment
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures policies and protocols
  • Proficient grammar spelling and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
  • Experience using computer systems scanner printer fax
  • Willingness to travel 15 to 20 percent
  • Ability to stand sit reach lift up to 10 pounds and wear personal protective equipment
  • Comfortable working in a patient-facing indoor environment
  • Availability for full-time day schedule

  • Good judgment and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
  • Experience with computer systems scanner printer fax usage

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival updating demographics insurance information PCP pharmacy collecting co-pays and patient balances providing consents for signature and health questionnaires
  • Check out patients collecting additional balances providing visit summaries specialist referral information patient portal information completed forms and follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand contacting patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
  • Post patient charges and payments completing charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier maintaining a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
