Job Requirements

  • Must be bilingual and fluent in both Spanish and English
  • Valid and active driver’s license
  • Minimum one year experience working in a medical office setting
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
  • Able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with office technology
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite and remotely as needed
  • Willingness to travel 15-20 percent to various office locations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish and English
  • Strong grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems desired
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and professional communication
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and use good judgment
  • Proficient in telephone etiquette and clear speech
  • Experience with filing both alphabetically and numerically
  • Skilled in operating office equipment including scanners, printers, and fax machines
  • Capable of effective teamwork and professional interaction with staff and patients

Job Duties

  • Check in patients by updating demographics, insurance, and collecting copays
  • Check out patients by collecting balances, providing visit summaries and follow-up information
  • Verify patient insurance status and contact patients with inactive insurance or incorrect PCP
  • Post patient charges and payments and reconcile accounts
  • Scan and upload documents through the document management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and authorization documents received by courier
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient waiting area and workspaces
  • Participate in staff meetings and educational sessions
