Job Requirements

  • high school diploma preferred
  • x-ray tech, medical assistant or related certification is a plus
  • current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • prior experience with insurance verification and medical billing
  • ability to communicate insurance concepts empathetically
  • detail-oriented
  • proficiency in medical billing software and EMR
  • positive demeanor during financial discussions

Job Duties

  • Master insurance verification by verifying coverage before services are provided
  • excel at financial counseling by explaining costs and billing processes to patients
  • solve billing problems by identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively
  • drive patient satisfaction through exceptional service even in financial discussions
  • be the face of AFC by greeting patients professionally and warmly
  • own the front desk flow by processing payments, scheduling appointments, and managing patient check-ins efficiently
  • protect patient information by maintaining organized records and following HIPAA regulations
