Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- one year related experience in administrative or customer service field
- completion of Vision Care 1, 2, and 3 courses or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to provide customer-friendly service
- proficiency in electronic medical records and patient access systems
- compliance with HIPAA regulations
- capability to handle multiple processes efficiently
- effective communication skills
- in-person work capability
Job Qualifications

- one year related experience in administrative office or customer service

- knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- ability to word process documents and enter data

Job Duties
- Greets patients to initiate positive ambulatory experience
- requests patient identification and verifies accuracy using two identifiers
- identifies healthcare provider to be seen and referring providers
- directs patients to next destinations and assesses special needs
- monitors reception area for patient needs
- collects patient demographic and financial information efficiently and accurately
- enters information into electronic medical records and patient access systems
- schedules new and return visits to ambulatory care
- coordinates ancillary testing referrals and interpreters
- manages missed appointments and cancellations
- prints after visit summary at check-out
- collects patient co-pays and prepares end of day deposits
- answers incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
- manages clinic calls and telephone encounters in EMR
- edits registration errors and completes missing data
- assists in charge reconciliation process
- manages electronic medical records messaging and referral processing
- assesses urgency and routes patient issues appropriately
- serves as front-line problem solver
- may escort patients into treatment corridors and collect basic clinical information
- performs other duties as assigned
