  • Prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office preferred
  • Epic EMR system experience preferred
  • CPR certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Receives and directs all communication courteously and consistently adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  • Greets patients and visitors promptly and courteously making them feel welcome
  • Assists patients with the sign in process responding promptly to patient needs
  • Supports financial responsibilities including reimbursement, billing, preparing deposits and signing cash receipts
  • Monitors office supply inventory and initiates ordering of supplies
  • Manages patient check-in by verifying information, collecting copayments and balances, verifying insurance eligibility, and ensuring referrals and paperwork completion
  • Manages patient check-out ensuring charges and payments are posted and appointments scheduled
  • Promotes patient satisfaction through friendly interactions and communicates issues to manager
  • Maintains efficient filing and record maintenance system
  • Assembles new patient folders and manages records retrieval
  • Adapts work schedule to practice needs including cross covering and managing time
  • Serves as a pre-loader for EMR system
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned
  • Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
