- Prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office preferred
- Epic EMR system experience preferred
- CPR certification preferred
Job Duties
- Receives and directs all communication courteously and consistently adhering to HIPAA guidelines
- Greets patients and visitors promptly and courteously making them feel welcome
- Assists patients with the sign in process responding promptly to patient needs
- Supports financial responsibilities including reimbursement, billing, preparing deposits and signing cash receipts
- Monitors office supply inventory and initiates ordering of supplies
- Manages patient check-in by verifying information, collecting copayments and balances, verifying insurance eligibility, and ensuring referrals and paperwork completion
- Manages patient check-out ensuring charges and payments are posted and appointments scheduled
- Promotes patient satisfaction through friendly interactions and communicates issues to manager
- Maintains efficient filing and record maintenance system
- Assembles new patient folders and manages records retrieval
- Adapts work schedule to practice needs including cross covering and managing time
- Serves as a pre-loader for EMR system
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned
- Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
