Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license for the duration of employment
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 6 pm to 10 pm with flexibility for additional clinic hours coverage
- Proficiency in computer use including document scanning and management
- Ability to stand, sit, and lift up to 10 lbs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Availability for patient-facing duties with some travel to other office locations (15%-20%) as needed
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems desired
- Ability to interact effectively and maintain professional working relationships
- Excellent customer service skills including greeting and receiving patients and visitors professionally
- Strong phone skills with clear and concise communication
- Good judgment and patient confidentiality maintenance
- Filing skills both alphabetically and numerically
- Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines
Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, primary care provider (PCP), pharmacy details
- Collect co-pays and patient balances
- Provide consents for signature and distribute appropriate health questionnaires
- Check out patients including collecting additional balances and providing visit summaries
- Supply specialist referral information and patient portal details
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on-demand verification
- Contact patients with inactive insurance or inappropriate PCPs
- Post patient charges and payments
- Complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and Pediatric Associates documents received by courier
- Maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
