Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Valid and active driver’s license
- Ability to use computer systems and office equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform filing and clerical tasks
- Availability to work Monday through Friday evenings with some coverage during clinic hours
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and maintain professional relationships
- Excellent customer service and professional phone etiquette
- Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alpha and numerically
- Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines
Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival, updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, and pharmacy, collecting co-pays and patient balances, providing consents for signature and health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through eligibility systems and contact patients with inactive insurance or mismatched PCP
- Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents through Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents, maintain clean work and patient waiting areas
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
