Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Valid and active driver’s license
  • Ability to use computer systems and office equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to perform filing and clerical tasks
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday evenings with some coverage during clinic hours

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Active and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Ability to interact effectively and maintain professional relationships
  • Excellent customer service and professional phone etiquette
  • Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alpha and numerically
  • Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival, updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, and pharmacy, collecting co-pays and patient balances, providing consents for signature and health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through eligibility systems and contact patients with inactive insurance or mismatched PCP
  • Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents, maintain clean work and patient waiting areas
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
