Job Qualifications

- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication abilities both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using Windows-based applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Accurate typing and data entry skills
- Familiarity with appointment scheduling systems
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Basic knowledge of healthcare office procedures
- Ability to prioritize telephone and patient encounters
Job Duties
- Greet incoming patients using friendly, respectful communication
- Obtain and document up-to-date demographic information, including insurance and license details
- Accept patient payments and document accordingly
- Collect necessary co-pays for patients enrolled in insurance plans InterMed participates with
- Maintain accurate transaction batches on credit card machine and balance cash drawer
- Assist billing office with problem resolution
- Notify clinical staff of patient arrival via EMR
- Inform patients of any unusual appointment delays
- Answer incoming telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette
- Manage necessary forms for patient appointments including scanning, printing, assembling, and mailing patient packets
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups using computerized systems
- Prioritize telephone encounters
- Monitor automated confirmation calls and update EMR
- Collaborate with team members with flexibility and willingness
- Use Windows-based computer applications proficiently
- Accurately enter data and transcribe patient information
- Perform patient health screening including temperature checks and health questions
- Verify appointment times and advise patients if rescheduling is necessary
