- Basic knowledge of medical office procedures is a plus
Job Duties
- Greet incoming patients using friendly, respectful communication
- Obtain and document up to date demographic information for patients, including insurance and license information
- Accept patient payments and document accordingly
- Familiar with co-pays required under various insurance plans and collect necessary payments
- Maintain accurate transaction batches on credit card machine and balance cash drawer
- Assist billing office with resolving payment issues
- Notify clinical staff when patients arrive via the EMR system
- Communicate any unusual appointment delays to patients
- Answer incoming telephone calls with pleasant voice and follow proper telephone etiquette
- Manage appointment scheduling including follow-ups and ancillary appointments using computerized systems
- Scan, print, assemble, and mail patient packets
- Monitor automated appointment confirmations and update EMR records
- Prioritize telephone encounters effectively
- Demonstrate flexibility and a team-oriented approach
- Proficiently use Windows-based computer applications for data entry
- Accurately transcribe and document patient encounters
- Maintain excellent typing skills and documentation accuracy
