Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to travel within 30 minutes of home and float to various locations
  • Commitment to adherence to HIPAA guidelines and office policies
  • Willingness to adapt work schedule to meet practice needs including occasional additional hours
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professional behavior
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient satisfaction and teamwork

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs
  • Strong sense of accountability and dedication to patient care
  • Exceptional focus on teamwork and ongoing education
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office
  • Preferred experience with Epic electronic medical records system
  • Preferred CPR certification

Job Duties

  • Receive and direct all communications courteously and consistently adhering to HIPAA guidelines and office policy
  • Greet patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and helpfully making them feel welcome and important
  • Assist patients with the sign-in process and respond promptly to patient needs
  • Support financial responsibilities including billing procedures, verifying information, preparing deposits and credit card batches
  • Monitor office supply inventory and equipment, notify management when supplies are low and initiate ordering
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes including verifying demographic information, collecting copayments, scheduling appointments and posting payments
  • Promote patient satisfaction through friendly and helpful interactions and communicate any issues to management
  • Maintain efficient and accurate filing and record keeping systems
  • Assemble new patient folders and retrieve/return records according to protocol
  • Adapt work schedule to meet practice needs including additional hours and cross-coverage
  • Serve as a pre-loader for EMR system
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
