Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • two to three years experience in a medical office or healthcare facility preferred
  • strong oral communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • willingness to work 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with some flexibility
  • availability for Saturday rotations
  • ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 20 pounds, walk and type for extended periods
  • maintain HIPAA compliance
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • two to three years experience in a medical office or healthcare facility preferred
  • customer-focused with strong oral communication and telephone skills
  • ability to work well in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality of work
  • basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • basic computer and keyboarding skills
  • EHR experience preferred
  • exceptional skills in customer service, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail
  • multitasking skills

Job Duties

  • Perform the following functions on a rotational basis: check in, check out, schedule and runner
  • ensure patient satisfaction by greeting patients, families and visitors in a warm and welcoming way
  • ensure registration form is complete and up to date, updating patient accounts when needed
  • pull and prep charts
  • distribute all incoming faxes and pull charts to attach any reports, results or correspondence
  • answer phone calls
  • balancing out at end of day
  • arrange servicing for front office equipment
  • arrange for the destruction of PHI
  • assist other personnel in times of high volume
  • maintain HIPAA compliance
  • willing participant in a team environment
  • work well independently
  • maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
  • attend staff meetings
  • arrive to work at scheduled time
  • must rotate late night hours with other front office personnel
  • must rotate Saturday hours with other front office personnel (8:00am-12:30pm)
