Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Two to three years experience in a medical office or healthcare facility preferred
- Customer-focused with strong oral communication and telephone skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
- Willingness to work 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some flexibility
- Availability for rotating Saturday shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Capability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds, walking, and typing
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Two to three years of experience in a medical office or healthcare facility preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent oral communication and telephone skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- High degree of professionalism
- Team-mindedness
Job Duties
- Perform check in, check out, scheduling, and runner functions on a rotational basis
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner to ensure satisfaction
- Ensure registration forms are complete and up to date
- Update patient accounts as needed
- Pull and prep medical charts
- Distribute incoming faxes and attach reports, results, or correspondence to charts
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally
- Balance out cash drawer at the end of the day
- Arrange servicing for front office equipment
- Arrange for the destruction of Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Assist other personnel during high volume periods
- Maintain HIPAA compliance
- Participate actively in a team environment
- Work independently when required
- Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
- Attend staff meetings on schedule
- Arrive to work at scheduled times
- Rotate late night and Saturday hours with front office personnel
