Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six months experience in a related role
- Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of age-appropriate patient safety
- Proficient in operating telephone and office equipment
- Ability to handle fast-paced work environments
- Strong communication abilities
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Eligible to work scheduled hours including some weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Six months related experience
- Accurate computer and keyboarding skills
- Working knowledge of age-related growth and development principles
- Proficiency operating telephone systems, headsets, PCs, printers, photocopiers, and fax machines
- Some medical background preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service and human relations sensitivity
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
- Ability to promote and maintain patient confidentiality
- Comfortable collecting co-pays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced structured environment
- Ability to sit and key for long periods
Job Duties
- Handle incoming calls with a minimum of 93% availability during scheduled hours
- Greet patients and provide courteous service support at the front desk
- Collect co-pays and manage patient payments
- Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals accurately
- Perform clerical duties including operating telephone, PC, printer, copier, and fax equipment
- Support departmental scheduling and communications
- Maintain patient confidentiality and promote positive patient relations
