Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical office preferred
- Spanish language proficiency required
- Must have active and valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate computer systems and related office equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Availability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and every other Saturday
- Ability to travel to other office locations within the assigned region
- Ability to stand, sit, reach, lift up to 10 lbs, and wear PPE
- Must adhere to organizational information security policies and HIPAA regulations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and during employment
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff in written documents
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with staff and maintain a professional working relationship
- Excellent customer service skills with professional and friendly greeting of patients and visitors
- Professional phone skills and etiquette, clear and concise communication
- Good judgment and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alpha and numerically
- Experience using computer systems, scanner, printer, and fax
Job Duties
- Check-in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature and appropriate health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
- Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents in Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier, maintain clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
