Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general educational development (G.E.D.)
  • 6 months previous customer service experience preferred
  • strong verbal communication skills
  • computer proficiency including mouse and keyboard usage
  • ability to follow instructions
  • ability to work in a diverse healthcare environment
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • ability to read, write, and comprehend written documents
  • ability to multitask
  • medium light work ability involving exerting up to 35 pounds of force

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general educational development (G.E.D.)
  • 6 months previous customer service experience preferred

  • skilled in operating a computer including mouse and keyboard
  • able to navigate scheduling, registration, and patient care applications
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Job Duties

  • Registers patients for appointments by collecting and verifying patient demographics, insurance information, and other essential data
  • greets, directs, and assists patients with questions to facilitate patient care promptly
  • answers telephone calls to schedule appointments, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate personnel
  • prepares patient records for office visits by reviewing electronic medical records and chart contents
  • handles insurance inquiries including assisting with referrals and completing necessary paperwork
  • processes and distributes written communication and documents accurately
  • provides appropriate care specific to the age of the patient to ensure comfort and understanding
