Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare front office or customer service setting
  • bilingual in English and Spanish
  • proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • ability to remain stationary for extended periods
  • effective telephone and in-person communication skills
  • occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds
  • availability to work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
  • willingness to participate in occasional evening or weekend events

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • associate degree or completion of administrative/medical office training program preferred
  • minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare front office or customer service setting
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • proficient with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure in a busy environment

Job Duties

  • Greet patients with warmth and professionalism upon arrival
  • complete patient check-in and check-out processes including collection of co-pays and signatures
  • provide patients with necessary forms and instructions for visits or procedures
  • assist patients with scheduling follow-up visits or specialty referrals
  • answer multi-line phones promptly and professionally directing calls
  • schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using EHR/practice management system
  • provide appointment reminders and patient instructions
  • relay non-clinical messages between patients and medical staff
  • accurately collect and update patient demographics and contact information
  • ensure patient records are complete and accurate for billing and communication
  • verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments
  • inform patients of any coverage issues or financial responsibilities
  • maintain inventory of front desk supplies and place orders as needed
  • serve as welcoming point of contact for job candidates and visiting staff
  • assist with onboarding preparation and coordination
  • support planning and logistics for patient-facing events
  • participate in quality improvement initiatives
