Job Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, fluent in both
- Minimum one year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Valid and active driver’s license
- Ability to learn and practice company procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient communication skills in written and verbal form
- Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems desired
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Capable of handling administrative tasks including filing and document management
- Willingness to travel 15-20% to other offices
- Ability to perform physical requirements including standing, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs, and manual dexterity
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and during employment
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates' procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills for communication with patients, providers, and staff
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and maintain professional work relationships
- Excellent customer service skills with professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong phone skills and etiquette, able to speak clearly and concisely
- Good judgment and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines
- Ability to file documents alphabetically and numerically
Job Duties
- Check-in patients upon arrival, update demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature and appropriate health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients with inactive insurance or inappropriate PCP
- Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and prior authorization documents received by courier, maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
