Job Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English fluently
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Active and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient in grammar, spelling, and verbal communication
  • Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alphanumerically
  • Experience with office equipment
  • Ability to work both in office and remote with up to 20% travel to other office locations
  • Ability to stand, sit, lift/carry up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and for the duration of employment
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff in written documents
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Ability to interact effectively, support staff, and maintain professional working relationships
  • Provide excellent customer service and greet patients and visitors professionally
  • Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
  • Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alphanumerically
  • Experience in using computer systems, scanners, printers, fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check-in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collecting co-pays and patient balances, and providing consents and health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
  • Post-patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier, maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
