Job Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English fluently
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient in grammar, spelling, and verbal communication
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alphanumerically
- Experience with office equipment
- Ability to work both in office and remote with up to 20% travel to other office locations
- Ability to stand, sit, lift/carry up to 10 lbs
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and for the duration of employment
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff in written documents
- Ability to read, comprehend, follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively, support staff, and maintain professional working relationships
- Provide excellent customer service and greet patients and visitors professionally
- Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
- Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alphanumerically
- Experience in using computer systems, scanners, printers, fax machines
Job Duties
- Check-in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collecting co-pays and patient balances, and providing consents and health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
- Post-patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier, maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
