Job Requirements

  • minimum one year experience in medical front office environment
  • experience verifying insurance eligibility
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • at least one year of experience in a medical front office setting
  • experience with direct handling of insurance eligibility and verification
  • preferred medical assistant front office experience
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
  • excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Warmly greet all patients and visitors as soon as they enter the office suite or waiting area
  • assist patients in signing in upon their arrival
  • validate, collect, obtain signatures, and enter patient information into EMR system
  • verify insurance eligibility and collect co-payments
  • answer front desk telephone and route calls appropriately
  • schedule and reschedule patient appointments
  • maintain a clean and welcoming reception area
  • monitor appointment schedules and notify providers of patient arrival and delays
  • ensure confidentiality of patient information
  • manage front office inventory and place supply orders
  • respond to emergencies following protocols
  • perform clerical duties such as filing and photocopying
  • contribute to team efforts and follow policies and procedures
