  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • willingness to work additional hours and cross cover locations as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs

  • passion and ability to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care
  • prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office is preferred
  • Epic system experience is preferred
  • CPR certification is preferred

Job Duties

  • Receive and direct all communication courteously and consistently
  • adhere to HIPAA guidelines and office policy
  • answer phone calls quickly and direct appropriately
  • greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
  • assist patients with the sign-in process
  • support financial responsibilities, including staying abreast of reimbursement and billing procedures
  • verify information on Audit Journal
  • prepare bank deposits and credit card batches
  • sign and date completed daily cash receipts
  • monitor general office supply inventory and equipment
  • notify Practice Manager when supplies are low and initiate orders
  • manage patient check-in process, including verifying demographic information, collecting copayments, verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining referrals, and ensuring completion of necessary paperwork
  • manage patient check-out process, including posting charges and payments, collecting balances, and scheduling future appointments
  • promote patient satisfaction through friendly and helpful interactions
  • maintain efficient and accurate filing and record maintenance
  • assemble new patient folders
  • retrieve and return records according to protocol
  • adapt work schedule to meet the practice’s needs, including working additional hours and cross-covering as necessary
  • serve as a pre-loader for the EMR system
  • perform other duties and projects as assigned
  • adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
