Job Requirements
- Current Indiana driver’s license
- effective computer and office equipment skills
- analytical and problem-solving abilities
- solid time management skills
- knowledge of office safety issues
- good interpersonal skills
- bilingual in Spanish
- High School graduate or GED
- minimum two years of receptionist or service desk experience, preferably in healthcare
- interpreting or translating experience preferred
- knowledge of Microsoft Word and spreadsheet software
- preferred working knowledge of EMR system

- preferably healthcare experience
- interpreting or translating experience preferred
- certification as a Medical Interpreter preferred
- proficiency in Microsoft Word
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access
- working knowledge of electronic medical record systems preferred
- bilingual in Spanish
Job Duties
- Greet consumers and visitors in a courteous, welcoming manner
- respond to incoming telephone calls by providing information, directing calls, taking messages, and scheduling appointments
- verify registration information and update patient demographics
- complete registration for new patients, including insurance and payer information
- distribute new information packets and complete necessary forms
- instruct consumers on sliding fee scale and Assisted Medication Program
- collect patient co-pays and payments
- schedule and reschedule appointments according to guidelines
- act as liaison between consumers and staff
- monitor waiting area and maintain neatness
- assist with patient check-out process including payments and receipts
- maintain a clean and neat front office environment
- serve as liaison between front office and back office
- assist with mail distribution, medical records requests, and provider communication
- maintain office supplies
- adhere to confidentiality policies
- use bilingual skills for interpretation and translation
- prepare reports and documentation
- attend meetings and training sessions
- perform other assigned operational tasks
