Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) required
  • Six months previous customer service experience preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in computer operation including mouse, keyboard, scheduling, registration, and patient care applications
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in diverse healthcare environment
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend various reports and documents
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Register patients for appointments by collecting and verifying patient demographics, insurance information, and other essential information
  • Greet, direct, and assist patients with questions to facilitate patient care in a prompt and polite manner
  • Answer telephone to schedule appointments, take messages, direct calls to appropriate personnel, and handle other patient matters to ensure excellent customer service
  • Prepare records for office visits by reviewing Electronic Medical Records
  • Handle insurance inquiries by answering questions, assisting with referrals, and completing necessary paperwork
  • Process and distribute written communication and documents accurately
  • Provide appropriate care specific to the age of the patient to ensure understanding and comfort
