Job Requirements

  • At least high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license that must be active and valid throughout employment
  • Proficient communication skills including grammar, spelling, and verbal skills
  • Ability to operate computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines
  • Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, lift 10 lbs or less, and perform manual dexterity tasks
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm and every other Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • Ability to work in a patient-facing indoor office environment
  • Capable of occasional travel to other office locations

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required and must remain active throughout employment
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer systems, scanners, printers, fax machines
  • Ability to maintain professional and excellent phone skills and etiquette
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Good judgment and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Experience in filing alpha and numerically

Job Duties

  • Check-in patients upon arrival, updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, and provide consents for signature as well as appropriate health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
  • Post-patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier, maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
