Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current Basic Life Support certification
- minimum of one year experience in a medical provider office as a receptionist or medical assistant preferred
- ability to travel independently throughout all facilities
- proficiency with modern office, computer, and telephone equipment
- ability to sit for long periods
- ability to adapt and maintain focus in fast-paced, changing or stressful situations
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to read and interpret various documents
- ability to see and hear for work-related purposes

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current Basic Life Support certification
- minimum of one year experience in a medical provider office as a receptionist or medical assistant with administrative responsibilities preferred
- proficiency in using modern office, computer, and telephone equipment
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- understanding of provider office operations
Job Duties
- Open office (unlock doors, turn on all equipment, etc.)
- disconnect answering service and facilitate messages
- answer telephone in a timely manner
- take messages and give them to appropriate person within 30 minutes
- check automated patient reminder system and call patients who have not confirmed their appointments
- greet all patients and vendors professionally
- assist patients with check-in and update demographic and insurance information
- scan insurance cards and HIPAA documents into EMR
- provide Medicare and Medicaid patients with Provider Based Billing requirements and obtain signatures
- verify and update insurance authorization
- scan patient medical records into EMR
- schedule patient appointments
- process patient discharges according to policy
- comply with quality programs including telephone communication and documentation
- provide clear documentation in EMR
- maintain cleanliness of waiting room
- verify and update daily transactions
- balance credit card terminal and run reports
- monitor and order office supplies
- maintain providers' schedules in computer
- facilitate daily office mail
- process release of medical records requests
- maintain and balance petty cash
- work scheduled hours as assigned
- support hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and code of ethical behavior
