Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • ability to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive or non-consecutive days
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to work in at least three ConvenientMD locations within one hour travel distance as needed
  • ability to travel for training shifts outside primary clinic within one hour commute
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational ability
  • proficiency with computer software
  • ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
  • capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • dependable and punctual work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • medical receptionist certification (preferred)
  • previous experience in medical receptionist or customer service roles (preferred)
  • familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)
  • experience with electronic records management and HIPAA documentation (preferred)
  • experience in insurance billing and coding (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet patients with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • register patients efficiently ensuring accurate completion of required forms
  • handle insurance and billing inquiries providing clear information
  • aid ill or distressed patients with available resources
  • collect payments, insurance co-pays, and prescription charges as per clinic policy
  • request and maintain a card on file and follow-up on patient balances
  • collaborate with healthcare team to ensure smooth patient flow and clinic operations
  • manage patient reservations and registrations optimizing patient satisfaction and provider schedules
  • assist in scheduling specialist referrals
  • navigate multiple software systems for patient management and record keeping
  • answer and direct phone calls professionally and timely
  • keep the reception area organized and tidy
  • perform administrative duties including photocopying, filing, and maintaining activity logs
  • familiarize with CMD services and associated costs
  • utilize software for reservation scheduling and electronic medical records
