Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Valid and active driver’s license required
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and maintain professional working relationships
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong phone etiquette
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
- Experience with computers, scanners, printers, and fax machines
- Willingness to work specified schedule including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
- Adherence to organizational information security policies

Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival, update demographics, insurance information, primary care provider and pharmacy details, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide required consents and health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance coverage through batch eligibility or on-demand verification
- Contact patients with inactive insurance or incorrect primary care provider to resolve issues
- Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and Pediatric Associates documents received by courier, maintain clean work and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
