Job Requirements
- Valid and active driver’s license
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
- Strong communication skills including grammar, spelling, and verbal communication
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions
- Basic knowledge of computer and medical terminology
- Ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and staff
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintain professional phone etiquette
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file documents alphabetically and numerically
- Experience operating computer systems and office equipment
- Willingness to travel 15%-20% to other office locations
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
- Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Must adhere to organizational information security policies
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff in written documents
- Ability to read, comprehend, follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with staff and maintain professional working relations
- Provide excellent customer service and greet and receive patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
- Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alpha and numerically
- Experience using a computer system, scanner, printer, fax etc.
Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, and provide consents for signature as well as appropriate health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand
- Contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
- Post patient charges and payments
- Complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents in Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier
- Maintain clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
