Job Requirements

  • Valid and active driver’s license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Strong communication skills including grammar, spelling, and verbal communication
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions
  • Basic knowledge of computer and medical terminology
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and staff
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Maintain professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file documents alphabetically and numerically
  • Experience operating computer systems and office equipment
  • Willingness to travel 15%-20% to other office locations
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Must adhere to organizational information security policies

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff in written documents
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Ability to interact effectively and supportively with staff and maintain professional working relations
  • Provide excellent customer service and greet and receive patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
  • Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to file alpha and numerically
  • Experience using a computer system, scanner, printer, fax etc.

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, and provide consents for signature as well as appropriate health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand
  • Contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
  • Post patient charges and payments
  • Complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents in Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier
  • Maintain clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
