Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • completed Medical Office Assisting training preferred
  • two years experience in healthcare preferred
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push 50 pounds on wheels
  • ability to hear and speak clearly on phone and in-person
  • ability to read memos, computer screens, and documents
  • high manual dexterity
  • ability to reach above shoulder level and perform physical activities such as bending, squatting, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and turning

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • completed training in Medical Office Assisting preferred
  • two years of healthcare experience preferred
  • possess valid driver's license
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • customer-service oriented
  • ability to build rapport with diverse patients and providers
  • familiarity with adult learning and training techniques
  • flexibility and dependability
  • problem-solving skills and sound judgment
  • effective leadership and supervisory skills
  • proficiency in modern office practices including email
  • intermediate computer skills
  • attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • ability to multitask

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt clerical support
  • promote smooth patient flow
  • collect and record data accurately
  • maintain order of the front office, equipment, and supplies
  • achieve organizational mission of healthcare access
  • ensure patients and families receive timely care
  • communicate openly with supervisors and staff
  • work flexible or extended hours as necessary
  • participate in health center in-services and meetings
  • abide by rules of confidentiality
