Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience
- Working knowledge of state-specific occupational medicine preferred
- Medical assistant experience preferred
- Ability to follow HIPAA and safety guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to perform administrative and some clinical tasks
- Flexibility and initiative in work approach
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience
- Working knowledge of state-specific occupational medicine requirements preferred
- Medical assistant experience preferred
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA
- Ability to perform front office operations effectively
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members at all levels
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors
- Communicate wait times to patients and direct them accordingly
- Obtain authorization as needed to process patients for services
- Check in patients using appropriate patient management system
- Explain required forms to patients and ensure proper completion
- Answer incoming telephone lines and direct callers
- Contact patients regarding appointment reminders, rescheduling, or cancellations
- Check out patients and distribute records
- File paperwork, medical records, and correspondence
- Maintain inventory of office supplies and printed forms
- Manage dissemination of paperwork to outside parties
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
- Attend center staff meetings
- Participate in initial and ongoing training
- Complete processing of patient referrals including checkout, paperwork, education, and communication
- Assist Center Operations Director in managing daily administrative functions
- Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly facility appearance
- Use employer reporting tools to scan and distribute results
- Review clinician transcriptions and enter charges
- Perform some medical assistant duties like breath alcohol tests and drug screens
