Job Requirements

  • high school graduate or GED
  • completed training program in medical office assisting from accredited college, preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
  • possess a valid driver’s license
  • bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • able to build rapport with patients and providers
  • customer-service oriented
  • knowledgeable of adult learning and training techniques
  • positive professional insight
  • flexible and dependable
  • good problem-solving skills
  • effective leadership and supervisory skills
  • familiar with modern office practices including email
  • intermediate computer skills
  • attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds
  • must be able to hear and speak clearly on phone and in person
  • must be able to read memos, computer screens, and documents
  • must have high manual dexterity
  • must be able to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and turning

Job Duties

  • participates in health center in-services and meetings
  • abides by rules of confidentiality
