Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one year customer service experience
- Minimum one year clerical, reception, medical assisting, administrative or secretarial experience
- Proficient in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with multi-line telephone systems and office equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Customer service experience working with the general public
- Clerical, reception, medical assisting, administrative or secretarial experience
- Proficient in English reading, speaking, writing and comprehension
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Experience with healthcare information systems preferred
Job Duties
- Greets patients, interpreters and visitors in person and by phone in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
- Responds to inquiries, takes messages, and provides accurate information regarding schedules and services
- Checks in, registers and schedules patients in the practice management system
- Maintains appointment schedule and follows office scheduling policies
- Verifies and updates patient demographic information in the electronic record at each visit
- Assists in managing patient flow and coordinates distribution of walk-in and add-on patients
- Interfaces with back office regarding cancellations, recalls, and delays
- Assists with insurance eligibility verification
- Receives patient payments and answers or refers billing questions
- Maintains records of financial transactions and prepares daily bank deposits
- Orders interpreter and transportation services
- Opens and closes clinic and reception areas
- Maintains work area and reception lobby
- Maintains inventory of office supplies and clinical forms
- Performs maintenance and troubleshooting of office equipment
- Assists other departments when called upon
- Prepares and secures courier bags
- Receives and processes medication refill requests
- Completes assigned tasks timely
- Adheres to infection control practices and attendance standards
