Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Ability to interact effectively and maintain professional relationships with staff
  • Excellent customer service skills, capable of greeting and receiving patients and visitors professionally and friendly
  • Maintain professional and excellent phone etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
  • Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival, update demographics and insurance information, collect copays and patient balances, provide consent forms and health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, referrals, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance status, contact patients for insurance or PCP issues
  • Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier, maintain clean work and patient waiting areas
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
